Audix built the D2 as a true hypercardioid dynamic with a VLM diaphragm, a 68Hz–18kHz response, and better than 30dB of off-axis rejection — the tight pattern keeps toms and congas isolated from the rest of a busy stage. It handles up to 144dB SPL, so it’s equally at home on a guitar cabinet or brass section.
